A CYCLIST aged 108 was hit by a car while pedalling across a busy street in the Austrian capital, Vienna – and suffered only a few bruises.
Police say the woman was struck when a car pulled away early from a red light. She was taken to a hospital where she was found to have nothing worse than bruising.

The car pulled away early from a red light? Surely not. According to posters on this site, only cyclists do that, when they're not cycling on pavements. Anyway, it's great to hear of someone so old remaining so active.

Maybe the driver of the car "pulled away early from a red light district" and in doing so became frustrated! I dont think that our driver will see 108.

Best wishes to the cyclist and lang may yer lum reek wi ither peoples coal!

Good on her.I think there's too much publicity about the minority of cyclists who ignore red lights and not enough about car-drivers who park in bike lanes, speed, run red lights, park in disabled spaces at supermarket car parks, park on pavements, drive in bus lanes, use mobile phone while driving etc etc
