A MAJOR crime team was yesterday called in to investigate the deaths of two young brothers in a fire at their home.
Officers from Sussex Police's major crime branch launched an inquiry after the blaze, in Eastbourne, on Saturday.

The boys' mother, Denise Goldsmith, was seen outside the burning property, screaming for help. Fifteen firefighters fought their way into the burning home, where Taylor and Lewis Jenkins, aged seven and five, were trapped.

However, they were too late to save the boys. Their bodies were found in a downstairs room.

Mrs Goldsmith was taken to hospital where she was treated for minor burns and bruises before being discharged.

Chief Inspector Dick Coates said: "We are treating the incident as an unknown cause and looking at all the facts. This is a very tragic incident"
