Pregnancy scare for 44%

ALMOST half of women have had unprotected sex or had their usual contraception fail in the past year, a survey suggested today.
The poll of 1,156 UK women aged 18 to 35 found that 44 per cent had had unprotected sex or a failed condom, missed a pill or had sickness or medication that could have stopped the pill working.
Of these women, almost two-thirds (61 per cent), said that they had not taken any steps to avoid an unplanned pregnancy.
