SCOTS are turning into Scrooges when it comes to outdoor festive decorations this Christmas, research out today revealed.
Just 22 per cent of Scots plan to illuminate their neighbourhood with Santas, snowmen and reindeers in the run-up to 25 December.
Clydesdale Bank's quarterly Homebuyers' Report also revealed that
people in the north of Scotland were more likely to keep the Christmas lights going this year than anywhere else in the country.
Nearly 40 per cent of those questioned in the Highlands and 29 per cent in Grampian said they were planning a dazzling display.
However, only 19 per cent in Dundee, Angus, Fife and Perth said their homes would be lit up like Christmas trees this year.
In Glasgow and Edinburgh, 17 per cent of those polled said they would not be putting up outdoor decorations.
A sample of 1,000 people were questioned for the research.
