On top of his architectural achievements, Mackintosh's designs can now be found on everything from jewellery to dishcloths.

DERYCK WALKER: Walker studied fashion and textiles in Glasgow, and launched his menswear label in 2004. He showed his first ever womenswear collection at OnIOff during London Fashion Week as part of the Glasgow: Scotland with Style design collective in September '07.

MHAIRI MCNICOL AND CHLOE PATIENCE: BeBaroque was established in 2007 by Mhairi McNicol and Chloe Patience after both designers completed honours degrees in textiles at the Glasgow School of Art. Both designers then went on to gain masters degrees: Chloe completing her course at Edinburgh College of Art; and Mhairi at the Glasgow School of Art. Combining Chloe's artistic skills with Mhairi's embroidery, they have created distinctive hosiery. Their work has been adopted by leading stockists including Diverse, Bordello, Boudiche, ASOS.com and New York's Brooklyn Fox Lingerie.

CHRISTOPHER KANE Kane, from North Lanarkshire, has been racking up the awards since he first hit the fashion scene – he was approached by Donatella Versace to advise for Versace following his Lancôme Colour Award win in 2005. He then won the Harrods Design Award for his graduate collection and has never looked back.

JONATHAN SAUNDERS Jonathan graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a BA in printed textiles. Alongside working on his own label, Jonathan is well known for his consultation work for some of the biggest brands.Saunders also took home the Lancôme Colour Award in 2002 cementing his role within the design elite.
