WE LIVE in volatile, ungrateful and unpredictable times. That must be the view from Nos 10 and 11 Downing Street. Despite opening the jelly beans this morning to celebrate that rollicking big VAT cut, the signs are that people are drifting away from the Labour Party.

According to a weekend Guardian/ICM opinion poll, the Tories once again lead Labour by 15 points, which would produce a healthy majority if a general election were held today. This contrasts with a midweek YouGov poll that put the Tories only four...

Westminster career politicos in all three unionist parties are mostly living in a different world from the rest of us. Darling and his cohorts obvously had no idea of the heavy retail discounting over the last year and before. The fact these people are not in touch with the real world is another good reason for Scotland to get rid of the Westminster club for good.
