Girl, nine, killed in Israeli attack

ISRAELI forces killed four Palestinians, including a nine-year-old girl, in the Gaza Strip yesterday. Medical workers said the girl's remains were found in a house struck by tank fire. A Hamas gunman and two civilians were also killed.
One year after the Islamic militants of Hamas took control, Israel said it would back efforts by Egypt to reach a truce in Gaza, but instructed the army to prepare for possible action.
