Did no-one think of proposing Edinburgh as a venue for the premiere of Sex and the City? Given the stars were already removing their Jimmy Choos to get through airport security at New York's JFK, couldn't they have come to a Scottish town rather than London? So obvious, darling.
Perhaps this was chewed over and ruled out. Different kind of city, the PR people might have murmured. In Edinburgh, Mr Big wouldn't have been respected unless he had a posh double-barrelled name, and Mr Frightfully-Enormous would then just be though...
