In a sub-section of your report on a plot to assassinate Barack Obama, the US presidential candidate (27 August), you say that the Warren Commission's conclusion that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin who shot President John F Kennedy has "hardened over the years into certainty". This is far from the case, although, with the passage of time, the true facts will probably never be known.
The only "certainty" is that the other three gunmen you list, Sirhan Sirhan, James Earl Ray and John Hinckley jnr, were all brought to trial and convicted on evidence and testimony. Oswald never had his day in court.
