European child care help
If naming and shaming Scotland in a report to the United Nations is what it takes to ensure that the Scottish Government realigns its priorities for Scotland's children (your report, 12 May), then it has my full support.
On the same day we hear that Scotland's child welfare figures are so disturbing that they may be breaching the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we are also lambasted with reports of a lack of foster care, a youngster being diagnosed with a rare drink-related brain disease and personal issues leaving children tongue-tied.
To address these issues effectively we should be looking to our European counterparts to share best-practice initiatives, ensuring the best possible outcome for Scotland.
