Rangers reveal special 150-year anniversary crest, kit plans and celebrations to mark milestone
The year-long celebrations will also include commemorative kits, a re-worked motto and the opening of the club’s new Edmiston House venue and museum at Ibrox.
A new golden crest has been designed, based on the club badge and including a scroll ribbon addition detailing the historic years 1872 and 2022 – with inspiration taken from emblems on either side of the ground’s Bill Struth Main Stand.

“Supporters are at the heart of everything we do, and that will be no different as we mark our 150th year. The backing we have had from season ticket holders, hospitality clients, and MyGers members since its launch last year has been phenomenal. It is just wonderful to see that loyalty rewarded with success on the park.”
The club’s special year will also include a half-century celebration since the European Cup Winners’ Cup was won with a 3-2 win over Moscow Dynamo in the Nou Camp.
Further events are planned while kit manufacturers Castore, who will take up a shop unit in the rebuilt Edmiston House, will also release commemorative kits and clothing ranges.
Anniversary branding will also include the message ‘Forever Ready’, based on Rangers’ famous ‘Ready’ club motto.
James Bisgrove, commercial and marketing director added on the club’s website: “Today marks the beginning of the build-up to our historic 150th-anniversary celebrations with a wide range of supporter-facing activities planned in the coming 12 months, culminating in the grand opening of new Edmiston House.
“Everyone at Rangers understands the significance of this landmark moment, as we become the first major European club to reach this special milestone.
“We are looking forward to unveiling a host of initiatives that will inspire Rangers supporters both in Scotland and across the globe to join the 150th-anniversary celebrations.’’
