Hide AdThe Scotsman will offer up-to-the-minute news as each state declares, with a graphics package helping our audiences see which parts of the US go blue, and which go red, as well as the race for the all important 270 electoral college votes, which will determine the path America takes for the next four years.
For those tuning in throughout the course of the night and the morning, regular recaps will set out some of the key events so far, and offer an updated tale of the tape as results come in.
The coverage will also feature the thoughts of US nationals based in Scotland, as well as Scots living stateside, to reflect the hopes and fears of those directly impacted by the election.
Investigations correspondent Martyn McLaughlin will be providing an analysis of the fast-moving developments, while also providing insights into how the election results could impact on President Trump’s businesses in Scotland.
Into Wednesday and beyond, live politics reporter Conor Matchett and the rest of the Scotsman’s politics team will help make sense of the emerging results, and reflect the reaction both at home and abroad.
The rolling coverage will be complemented by a series of explainer articles produced by The Scotsman’s central content team, offering insight into some of the most-asked questions about the election, such as what are the key swing states to look out for?
As the results begin to emerge, the same team will be on hand to provide answers to some of our reader’s queries about what happens next.
