Troop stress funds raised
The Royal Scots Club in Abercromby Place hosted a black tie dinner in aid of Combat Stress' Scottish treatment centre at Hollybush House in Ayr.
The charity's Scottish chairman, military historian Trevor Royle, told the packed audience that psychological scars suffered by thousands of members of the armed forces in conflicts such as Afghanistan could take more than 25 years to develop.

Hide AdClive Fairweather, former chief inspector of Scottish prisons and chief fundraiser for Combat Stress in Scotland, said: "It is truly wonderful that the Royal Scots Club has raised such a considerable sum for needy veterans."
